Crafting visions into reality
Canberra's premium builder. We keep the team small and the standards high so the home you live in matches the one you've been picturing.
Your project, our priority
I'm Jeff Rentoule, and at Rentoule Projects we build for Canberra homeowners who know a home is more than a project. It's where your kids learn to walk, where Sunday mornings slow down, where years of memories get quietly made around a kitchen bench.
That's the weight of what we do. It's why we keep our team small, why I'm personally across every detail from the first coffee to the final handover, and why every contract is priced up front. So you can focus on the life you're building, not worry about the build itself.
Our services
New Builds
A blank canvas and a clear vision. We build custom homes on Canberra blocks for clients who know what they want and want to enjoy the process of getting there. Every brief is different. Every contract is fixed-price.

Extensions
Adding to a home you love is harder than starting fresh. New structure has to sit with old, new finishes have to respect what's there, and you have to live through it. We do extensions for people who want the addition to feel like it was always meant to be there.
Learn More
Renovations
Most Canberra homes have good bones and outdated layouts. We rework the inside without rebuilding the shell, for clients who want the home they live in to finally match the life they live.
Learn MoreOur core values
Quality
The details are where most projects get it wrong. Square lines, honest materials, finishes that look as good at ten years as they did at move-in. If it's not right, we redo it.
Transparency
Fixed-price contracts. Variations in writing before they happen. Decisions documented as we go. You always know what's happening, what it costs, and where we are in the build.
Communication
We keep you informed at every stage. Weekly updates, straight answers, and site access whenever you want it. You should never have to chase us for an update on your own home.
What our clients say
Building or renovating a home is a big investment, and choosing the right builder makes all the difference. Hear from our happy clients who have trusted us to bring their dream homes to life.
Got questions?
We understand that building or renovating a home comes with plenty of questions, and we're here to help.
Once we've agreed on scope, finishes and inclusions, the contract price is locked. We do all the estimating up front and stand behind it. If the scope changes during the build, variations are negotiated transparently in writing before any work happens. No surprise invoices at handover. It's harder for me because I have to estimate accurately, but it means you always know exactly where you stand.
Most of our work is in Canberra's inner north and inner south - Yarralumla, Turner, Griffith, Campbell, Ainslie, Reid, Forrest, Braddon, Dickson, O'Connor, Hackett. We're licensed in both the ACT and NSW, so we also build in Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong and Bungendore. For the right project we'll travel further. Have the conversation either way.
On-site time for a major structural renovation is 6 to 10 months. But total elapsed time, from first conversation to moving back in, is usually 12 to 20 months once you factor in design, documentation, DA or SDHDC approval, and pre-construction lead times. If you're starting today, a major renovation realistically isn't finished inside 14 months. Plan accordingly.
Sometimes yes, often no. Cosmetic refreshes and single-room renovations can be done while you live there. Whole-house, structural or major extension work is much faster and cheaper if you can move out for the duration. We'll talk through the trade-offs at consultation - living through a build saves rental costs but extends timelines and tests patience. Both options have their place.
Send through the form below or call me directly on 0434 435 966. If your project is the right fit, we'll arrange an on-site consultation. I'll walk through the property with you, listen to what you're picturing, and we'll figure out together whether we're the right builder for the job. Coffee's on me.

Five years ago I started Rentoule Projects to build the way I'd want as a homeowner myself. Small team, fixed-price contracts, personally across every project.
Meet Jeff Rentoule
Hi, I'm Jeff. Canberra born and raised, and I've never lived anywhere else. This city is home in every sense of the word. My wife, our three kids and I live and breathe Canberra. Most weekends you'll find us at one of the local parks, riding around the bike trails, or just enjoying everything this place has to offer.
I've spent 19 years in the construction industry. I started on the tools, learned the trade from the ground up, and worked on just about every kind of residential project Canberra has to offer, from cold concrete slab pours in the depths of winter to heritage extensions in the Inner North. Five years ago I took the leap and started Rentoule Projects because I wanted to do this work my way. I wanted to build the kind of relationships with clients that I'd want as a homeowner myself.
For me, this is more than a job. I genuinely care about the families and the homes I'm trusted to work on. That's why I keep the team small, why I'm personally across every project, and why every contract is fixed-price so you always know exactly where you stand. No surprises, no fine print, no chasing me up for an answer.
Canberra is a small town in a lot of ways, and reputation is everything. Most of my work comes through referrals from past clients, and I'm proud of that. It tells me I'm doing something right.
If you've got a project on your mind, even if it's just a what-if conversation at this stage, I'd love to hear from you. Coffee's on me. Let's chat about what you're dreaming up and see if we're a good fit.

Chris - Weetangera
Right from the outset, it was clear that Jeff's expertise and commitment were unparalleled as he took charge of managing the extensive renovation project. Our home, with its origins in the 1970s, required a comprehensive interior overhaul to bring it up to date. His diligence and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of the project, from the intricate tiling, plastering, and joinery work to the installation of new timber flooring and carpet. The final result was a beautifully renovated home that far exceeded our expectations. Their dedication to quality, attention to detail, and ability to overcome challenges with professionalism are admirable. We are thrilled with the outcome of our renovation and owe a significant debt of gratitude to Jeff for his integral role in making our vision a reality.
Adam - Holder
When we embarked on our renovation journey, we placed a significant amount of trust in Rentoule Projects, and I'm pleased to say it was well-founded. Jeff and his team have been exceptional, turning our 50-year-old house into a modern, functional home. Before taking down a wall marked with our kids' growth over the years - a detail I had overlooked - he thoughtfully pointed it out, giving us the chance to preserve that memory. This attention to personal detail was emblematic of his work throughout the entire project. I wholeheartedly recommend Rentoule Projects. Their work ethic, the trust they foster, and their thorough understanding of what makes a house a home, sets them apart.
Mark - Griffith
Jeff and his team did an amazing job with our building renovation, including new bathrooms and laundry, and other updates inside and out. They were responsive and solution focussed throughout the process. They finished on time and within budget. We highly recommend Jeff for any renovation project.
